Don't Fall!

I was  out and about town and noticed a family ahead of me. The young girl who was about 3 or 4 years old started to run ahead of the family and her father shouted out don't fall. Within a few seconds splat, yes of course the young girl fell, she wasn't hurt and got up again.

I thought about the suggestion that the father planted in the girl's head and in most cases the result would be a fall. What could be offered instead that might have have different ending, so here a few ideas that might help:

Keep a safe speed, keep your balance, keep your focus, keep your bearings, be safe, be upright, keep your flow, know your balance, focus on your body.

There are some others too I'm sure, just some options you might get a better result with rather than all the don'ts.

Coming to a tap near you

The big snow melt is well underway, resulting it full rivers and reservoirs filling up. I hope you enjoy some of this great mountain water flowing from your tap soon!

Green shoots

There is no doubt that the economy has been sprouting a few green shoots, and has been doing better and that has people feeling better about things. Like the photo below there are not green shoots everywhere, so it's good to have an awareness of what is happening around you.

One thing that I have been aware of over the last month, is that those restaurants I mentioned before being really busy have hit a bump and are no longer busy, flights have lots of seats available again, even with daily airline sales going on. A price war has broken out with the grocery stores, Walmart and Target, as you may have noticed by the newspaper ads and low prices.

All of this seems to indicate a temporary step back is brewing so watch for the gloom talk to hit the headlines in the summer. It's a time of year when things tend to get blown out of proportion, remember the summer when shark attacks dominated the news?

People are still spending money, they are just doing so differently than before. It's an adjustment that's all.

A summer without the news might well bring you some peace.

Awareness 2

A couple of days after my experience with the rabbit, I received another lesson in awareness from nature, this time a prairie dog. I'm driving along the 4 lane highway, with emergency lanes, where speeds are a minimum of 65mph and a concrete barrier divides the highway.

Once again there was a large presence, which drew my attention and there it was a prairie dog standing on the my left side on the yellow line, no more than a foot tall. It was waiting to cross the 2 lanes to the other side. This was an amazing sight to see it there so patient and what was even more amazing was it had somehow crossed over either from the other side of the highway or from my side. Either way it had successfully crossed 2 lanes of traffic and an  emergency lane to get to where it was. No small feat on a very busy highway.

That takes a lot of patience to wait for the ideal opportunity and it takes a lot of awareness to know when to cross and when not to cross  and it takes a very clear knowing of what you want. That combination gives you a large than life presence.

Excuses begone

Awareness

The animal world has been great at providing some examples of awareness which I appreciate and I also appreciate my own alignment in observing these examples.

I saw it to my left, I thought oh oh, the rabbit was running across the road, there was a car approaching it and I was in the other lane going 35 mph. I was thinking one of us would hit the rabbit. There was only seconds to act and there were cars behind me so I had to be careful. I shouldn't have worried though the rabbit knew what was going on and stopped on median grassy strip, like came to a dead stop, pardon the pun. It was amazing to watch in the split seconds that it took.

Could the rabbit have calculated things so exactly or was it just a lucky rabbit? Well clearly the rabbit was in alignment with living, it knew it wanted to get across the road, and seemingly knew that there was grass in the median strip. It clearly knew there was traffic coming as it was running so the level of awareness was very high.

There weren't any other rabbits on the side of the road, saying I wouldn't do that if I were you, or judging the rabbit  for running near traffic, or saying you scared me or you are really reckless. Thankfully.

No, the rabbit knew where it wanted to go, had an awareness of what was going on around it and took the action to get what it wanted.

Lessons  from nature, are you willing to learn?

Ducklings

Sometimes it takes a little help.

If

If time was not a problem for you, what would you do that you are unable to do right now because you don't have time?

How much time would you need to do this?

Can you find 10% of this time this week?

Could you find another 10% of this time next week?

Would you be willing to find another 10% each week until you have all the time that you need?

As you create this 10% of the time you need each week, do something beneficial for you, it can be anything that nourishes yourself. Then when you have all the time you need, go do what you originally wanted to do.

OR you could keep complaining how you don't have time to what you want to do.

There is a cost......

I was recently on a flight to Chicago and seated next to a business man, he was in his early 30's and from Germany. He wasn't very talkative which is fine,I had reading material with me to keep me occupied. When the flight attendant asked what he would like to drink, he curtly responded ginger ale. It was interesting the tone of voice and I felt he was looking down at the attendant, not to mention the lack of a please.

I had know way of know what his day had been like so I thought no more of it. The he stood up as if to go to the rest room, and was gesturing, as I looked at him he said I need to get up.I played dumb and I said I was sorry I didn't catch what he said and he replied oh excuse me please.

It doesn't matter what kind of day you are having, if you can be polite and kind to people things will change quickly for you. I felt in this case there was something going on, like the universe was saying paying attention, so I did.

At the baggage claim, I heard him on the phone with a sales prospect and again there was this tone and lack of kindness almost like a superiority.thought it was an odd way to sell someone.

Well as the universe would have it and orchestrate it,  I ran into this man again, at a Starbucks in the city, what are the odds of that. I was able to overhear his conversation with a fellow salesman and he was complaining that his sales were down and how he didn't like the company sales materials and how he thought that was the root of the problem.

This was a great example of someone who treats others badly and not understanding that there is a cost for this behavior. You have an energy vibration that sends out signals that you think this person is less than you, you are superior, you don't care much for them. In this case it was being reflected in his sales and I'm sure he was running into bad service at places too.

If you feel that way, it's a good idea to clean up your thoughts and actions then go off on the sales call.

Also, no one is less than we are, we can be different for sure, though that does not make us superior. We can make more money than someone, that does not make us superior. When people recognize this life is better.

Spring

It's great seeing the trees and grass turning to green again, our winter is over and the geese have moved on, the spring calves have arrived and the daylight lasts longer. It's easy to get caught up in the drama of life and miss out on what nature is offering, the continuous cycle, maybe if we were to be with nature we would understand more.

 

Not his time to go

I was waiting for the traffic light to change, I was on the front row of a four lane road, then I saw it. There was a lot of energy for something so small, at first glance it looked like a small leaf as it moved from the two lanes on the other side and got closer, it became more clear, it was a mouse. Yes a mouse crossing the road, all four lanes from one side to the other.

What was amazing to me was that no cars that had the green light turned on to the road, not very often that happens. So the mouse was able to cross over with ease and must have been in alignment with living in that moment otherwise it could easily have been.......

When we are in alignment we give off a powerful vibration, it's not something that a lot of people would notice consciously unless they were watching a sports event or concert etc. They would certainly notice it unconsciously and possibly have some reaction such as getting closer to this person.

The mouse was giving off a very powerful energy, so it seemed bigger and noticeable. Another lesson from nature.

Perspectives

For every situation there is always another perspective, very often we get locked into just one and won't consider anything else. Is that causing resistance for you?

The photo helps illustrate this, ok a bit dramatic. Think about it.

Recycle

I was having a conversation with a friend on Earth Day and was asked why I recycle, I replied that I recycle so that the paper and bottles can be transformed and made into other things such as paper for my printer. I had also read that clothes are being made from recycled coke bottles, so I was sure my water bottles were being made into something useful. I also feel good recycling.

The conversation developed and I learned that my friend recycles to save the planet. That didn't feel as good to me, I felt some fear around that, it felt good to my friend so that was good.

I didn't try and convince him that the planet didn't need saved and he didn't try to convince me that it does, yet we both recycle and feel good about doing so. I felt it better to focus on what we were both doing rather than what separates us.

Many people get caught up in what separates us from others and it doesn't feel good, creates conflict and division.

So I have my friend and we both recycle, how cool is that?

Planting trees

The Disney movie Earth did really well at the box office, as a result Disney is planting 2.7 million trees in the Atlantic Forest in Brazil. This is a rainforest going through some challenges so this will really help.

While the tree planting promotion is over, the movie is still playing at your local movie theater and it's well worth watching, stunning cinematography and a movie for the whole family especially on the big screen.
