The main topic that is causing a lot of emotional stress here in the USA is all the talk, fear and proposed legislation around the health care changes. The proposals have the aim to have most people insured in the country, there are apparently anywhere from 40-50 million people without health insurance right now. The bill currently being given attention in congress right now has just over 1000 pages and to do this it will cost money, how to pay for it all is the main sticking point.
With all that in mind, I'm asked how can I feel good when this is all going on, how can I feel good when I will have to pay more, how can I feel good when, I have to subsidize others who make different health choices, how can I feel good when my taxes will go up, how can I feel good when Obama is spending money like a drunken sailor. These are the common ones that have been coming up.
All of those have at their core what people don't want, don't want to pay more, don't want higher taxes, don't want all this spending, don't want to subsidize all those people drinking sodas and beer, or smoking it's not healthy.
The first step therefore is to start focusing on what you do want as opposed to what you don't want to ease some of the resistance. How does this sound? I want to have as many people insured as possible, I want to maintain my own coverage and access to health care, I want this to be financed in such a way as to be deficit neutral, I want to test this out on a small scale to see if it works well or not then roll it out throughout the country after it has been proved that it does. I want to let my congressional representative to know what I want.
How does that feel?
For most it will feel easier, for some they will still be stuck on what they don't want. Then I would ask them to do some research on Massachusetts, where 97% or so of the population has coverage now, with reasonable, premiums and deductibles and where there is no rationing of health care and no riots in the streets about health care. They do have a problem that costs are rising at a high level (as they are world wide). That might take some of the fear away?
I can feel good about it all when I think about what I want, I can feel better that enough people might prevail on congress to fine tune the Massachusetts model for a year or so until the costs are under control and then expand it through out the country.
At the end of the day if I'm forced to have health insurance and higher taxes, I know the universe will balance things out so I can come out even, I know this as that's the way it has been working for me as I'm open to receiving prosperity from any source at any time.
That's how I feel good when these things come up, I invite you to align with that or something similar to free you up to see what else is going on in the world, it's a fun time.
