After going through the Gunnison Canyon, my day continued onwards to the Black Canyon National Park. I had read about it, but seeing it was even better as you will see from the photos over the next few posts.
First though on the way to the park, was a deer at the side of the road, and it stayed and posed for a photo, very rare, it was my birthday after all.
This gives you an idea of the scale of the canyon, at its highest the wall is 2300 feet, the highest in Colorado. Reports vary as to how old all of this is, billions or millions of years, it still looks good.
