It's 2012, I would like to wish you a very Happy New Year, I hope you enjoy great success and happiness this year and the years to come.
It's a new year, an open road no traffic or obstacles in your way, just like the photo below a fresh start if you like. I have some questions and ideas below for you.
In your mind how is this year looking for you? Are you hopeful and optimistic or are you fearful and pessimistic. Do you have a plan for how you want your job to be this year? Do you have an idea of how much money you would like to have in the bank at the end of the year?
People often look for a big change and the results are not that great when it comes to the really big changes. This year would you like to try and work towards a 5% change?
If you were to be 5% happier this year over last year how would that look? What would you be doing and who would you be with?
If you were to reduce your angry moments this year by 5% how would that look? What would a 5% reduction in angry moments at work and home look like? What benefits do you think you would notice from doing so?
If you were to smile 5% more this year over last year ( if you smile 2o times a day that is 1 more smile a day), how would that look? What benefits do you think you would receive from smiling more?
If you were to eat 5% fewer calories this year (125 calories per day if you eat 2500 calories per day) What benefits would you feel from doing so?
If you were to to invest 5% of every hour (3 minutes multiplied by 8 or as many hours as you like) into learning something new that could help you increase your income or knowledge at work how would that look?
If you were to spend 5% more time with your children (that is without distractions of television, cell phones etc) do you think you would have a better relationship with your children and is it possible they might behave better too?
If you were to walk 5% more per day or just Monday to Friday (if you walk or run 10,000 steps right now that would be 500 steps) would you feel better?
You might not think that just a 5% adjustment would make any difference, try it for a month you will be pleasantly surprised.
